Singapore’s famous shopping street Orchard Road is renowned for its Christmas Light-Up (it’s been running for 27 years!), and for the last seven years, Celebrate Christmas in Singapore (CCIS) has been there to tell the story of Christmas in various entertaining ways.

This year’s theme is “Christmas is Love”, and it will be expressed through song, dance and theatre. For the nine days of CCIS, celebrate with nightly music and drama performances, as well as a drive-past of seven spectacularly decorated Christmas floats. A static display fronting Wisma Atria, a popular mall in the heart of Orchard Road, will feature the Tree of Hope for passers-by to pin their hopes and wishes on. To view and experience the Christmas Story, make a stop at Mandarin Gallery further up the shopping stretch.

The beauty of CCIS is that it’s wonderfully interactive so expect to join in the spontaneous Christmas carolling happening all around! Renew your love of Christmas, and cultivate that same joy in the young ones—adults and children will enjoy CCIS just the same.

CCIS culminates on Christmas Day with a Christmas concert on Orchard Road which will be open to pedestrian traffic for that one day. Don’t miss this opportunity to have a family portrait taken with the beautifully-decorated Christmas floats parked along the shopping strip. Christmas in Singapore is celebrated with terrific aplomb so join in the merrymaking and experience it for yourself this Yuletide!
