Actor Huang Yiliang charged with causing hurt to woman

Former MediaCorp actor Huang Yiliang has been charged in court for voluntarily hurting a woman.The veteran actor allegedly caused the woman to fall after grabbing her by the neck when he noticed that she did not properly dispose of her dog’s faeces, reported Shin Min Daily News.

The incident happened at around 7:15pm on 20 May at Toa Payoh Lorong 2.50-year-old Huang Yiliang is best known as an actor with MediaCorp, where Huang Yiliang was a three-time Best Supporting Actor at the annual Star Awards. Huang Yiliang left the company in 2008 to set up his own production house.

Huang Yiliang first appeared in court last Wednesday and will attend a pre-trial conference this Thursday.If found guilty of voluntarily causing hurt, Huang Yiliang can face a maximum jail term of two years, and a S$5,000 fine.
Eddie Huang Yiliang (simplified Chinese: 黄奕良; traditional Chinese: 黃益良; pinyin: Huáng Yìliáng) (born 1960) is a veteran Singaporean artiste and insurance agent.

Huang Yiliang Career:Huang started off as a small screen actor with MediaCorp. Huang Yiliang bagged the Best Supporting Actor Star Awards three times during his 20-year career there.

Huang Yiliang felt that it was time to move on to a different challenge after having acted for the past 20 years and started his own movie producing company Red Group Film and became a movie producer, a film-director and a movie actor.

Huang Yiliang’s first production, Autumn In March (S$1 million budget), was originally scheduled for big screen but was later downgraded to just DVD-release after failing to get the support of the local movie distributors. However, it did receive overwhelming support from aspiring actresses as more than 300 girls came over for the leading actress audition in Singapore.
