Lim Hwee Hua as senior adviser for global investment firm KKR‎

Former minister in the prime minister’s office Lim Hwee Hua has joined the global investment firm Kohlberg Kravix Roberts (KKR) as senior adviser.Mrs Lim recently stepped down from the People’s Action Party’s (PAP) central executive committee, its top decision-making body.

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. has named Lim Hwee Hua as a senior adviser to the firm. Mrs. Lim held various offices in the government of Singapore, retiring from public service as minister in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Lim Hwee Hua was part of a team from the ruling People’s Action Party – including ex-Foreign Minister George Yeo – that lost the 5-member Aljunied group representation constituency to the opposition Workers’ Party in the general election in May this year.

Mrs. Lim (Lim Hwee Hua) was elected Member of Parliament for the Marine Parade Group Representation Constituency in both the 1997 and 2001 Singapore general elections and was appointed Minister of State for Finance and Transport in 2004.

In 2006, Mrs. Lim (Lim Hwee Hua) was elected Member of Parliament for the Aljunied Group Representation Constituency. She was promoted to senior minister of state for finance and transport in 2008. In 2009, Mrs. Lim (Lim Hwee Hua) became the first woman minister when she was promoted to minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and concurrently to second minister for finance and second minister for transport.

KKR’s senior advisers complement the work of U.S. private-equity firm KKR’s investment professionals and serve as liaisons to manage relationships with current and future investment partners.
