Anwar Al Awlaki Latest News : US-born radical Islamist religious Anwar al-Awlaki, a key al-Qaeda, was killed in Yemen, the country’s defense ministry. President Barack Obama said that his death was a blow to Al Qaeda. Awlaki, of Yemeni origin, was in hiding in Yemen in December 2007. United States said a key figure in al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), he played an “important role” in the plot to blow up U.S. airliners, and seeks to use poison to kill American citizens. Obama said that he personally ordered his assassination last year.
