Russell Brand Files for Divorce Katy Perry

After 14 months of marriage, Russell Brand has filed for divorce from Katy Perry.In papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Friday, Russell Brand, 36, cited “irreconcilable differences.” No other specifics were provided in the documents, though Russell Brand is asking that each party pay their own attorney fees and that their property rights be determined.”Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage,” Russell Brand tells Us Weekly in a statement. “I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”

The California-born pop star, 27, and the British comedian-turned-actor began dating in 2009. Russell Brand popped the question four months later, and they were married in October 2010 in a lavish ceremony – that included two elephants as well as acrobats and jugglers – at a luxury resort in northern India.
