LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday declared a public holiday across the province in schools on Wednesday, Dec 16, to mark the first anniversary of a tragic attack on Army Public School in Peshawar.
At least 150 people including 132 students and teachers, were killed when Taliban gunmen stormed the Army Public School in Peshawar last year.All academic institutions, including schools and colleges, will remain closed on Wednesday, a statement by the CM office said.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government also announced a public holiday across the province to pay tribute to the young martyrs.Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, army chief General Raheel Sharif will spend the day in Peshawar to remember the young victims on Wednesday.
